A series of recitals and conducting workshops for the Said Business school, including sessions for Standard Chartered Bank, Oxford strategic leadership Programme, and the MAN engineering group, as well as a group from China.

Following that, on the morning of Saturday August 13 in St George's church, Worcester, we are giving a concert at the Three Choirs Festival. This will be conducted by the winning participant in the conducting masterclasses the group were involved in at the Three Choirs last summer, Tom Hammond-Davies, and the programme covers a wide range of secular a capella choral music from Elgar to MacMillan, and a newly commissioned piece from one of our founders, Nicholas Brown. Full details here where you can also buy tickets.

Musica Beata is a Midlands based chamber choir comprising between 6 and 16 singers, all of whom are professional singers. Many of our members are past choral scholars of various Oxford and Cambridge colleges, and we pride ourselves on a wide-ranging repertoire, performed to a very high standard, alongside a willingness to turn our hands to any sort of musical opportunity that comes our way.

As a choir, we are available for hire for any sort of function, from Weddings and Church services to after-dinner entertainment. Just contact the Director, Paul Hedley. Here is his biog.

We are currently working regularly with a Danish conductor, Peter Hanke, and the Said Business School in Oxford doing workshops that use the concept of choral conducting as an analogue for business leadership. These workshops now form part of several high profile programmes including the Strategic Leadership Programme, the African Leadership Institute, and the regular sessions run for Standard Chartered Bank.

This sort of interaction between business and the arts is a massive growth area, and we feel that such opportunities not only give business people a different perspective on issues of creativity and leadership, but that we as musicians also have something to gain from the experience. This sort of training and experience is a worthwhile concept, and one in whose development we are hoping to continue to be involved.
